Construction

Hydrated lime is used to stabilize soils for roads, dams, airfields, and building foundations. It can also be used to make mortars, plasters, cements, and paints. 

Water treatment

Hydrated lime is used to remove impurities, soften water, and adjust pH levels in industrial water treatment facilities. 

Chemical industry

Hydrated lime is used to neutralize acidic waste streams, treat flue gas emissions, and produce calcium-based compounds. 

Food industry

Hydrated lime is used to remove impurities in the manufacture of maple syrup, sugar cane, and other viscous forms of sugar. 

 Tree care

Hydrated lime can be used to seal tree trunks and branches to protect them from drying out and deter rabbits from chewing the bark. It can also be used as an antifungal to keep bugs from burrowing into the trunk and fungus from growing on the tree.
